I rode past this a half block before the deteriorating structural foam convinced this was worthy of Oppo.

This truck had a few interesting defects but was otherwise nothing special. Next time I see a good example of a vehicle approaching the advanced stages of rust I’ll try to take photos.

Occasionally you might see thru rust on a transplant. Usually an older pickup truck. But this? Nothing like that. Absolutely horrifying to think of sharing the road with that.

The bedsides on that era of ford rot like that, there’s a non-zero chance that the remaining structure of the truck is passable

3-4 months from now you start seeing frames snapped in half or wheels ripped off from doing 30 mph or lower through minefields of potholes.
Did you see Dash-doorhandles entire series of body work posts? Maybe that was too connoisseur level for most peoples tastes.

That's a solid dose of pickup rust

There are, I kid you not, dunes of road salt shifting with the winds by Mid-Winter. May not have snowed in the last month and you’d still be riding through piles of salt.

That sounds like my worst nightmare. I don't think I'd ever want to live in a very snowy clime. Fun to visit, but I'm not cut out for harsh winters.

I feel the same way about your anything but Winter months. You can put on warmer clothes against the cold . Can’t do much about heat.

Wrong. You can take off clothes.
I’d much rather have a hot day. And that means the Georgia definition of an average hot day as in 95 ° and enough humidity to drown in. I just can’t take the cold, and that’s fine as long as I’m living here. Even gloved up with two jackets on I am just miserable outside after about an hour during a cold day. Maybe it's the fact that I'm freakishly thin.
